Fossil Cassis floridensis
This large fossil of the genus Cassis went exinct in the late Pliocene to middle Pleistocene geological time period. It's range spanned from Southern Florida to Northern Florida. This Tamiami formation specimen retains ancient sea floor matrix and other shell deposits.
Measures 7 inches in length (17.78 centimeters) and approx 5.75 inches in height (14.605 centimeters). This is an unusual size for this exinct predatory gastropod. A one of a kind specimen for collectors.
